In recognition of his magnanimous and philanthropic strides
towards the development of the Niger Delta especially
Bayelsa state, Barrister Moses Oruaze Dickson was recognized as the Humanitarian Man of the Year 2019 at a special Parent
Conference organized by the Ijaw Women of Substance Worldwide in Yenagoa.
On Friday, November 8, 2019, the ‘Ijaw Women of Substance’
organized a Parent Conference with the theme “Child
Development for a Better Society: The Role of Parents”. The conference featured debate, poem recitation, presentations
on parenting guidelines and award presentations. The vision of the Ijaw Women of Substance is “Empowering the Ijaw
Woman, Ijaw Girl Child and Affecting Lives Positively”.
Barrister Dickson was recognized for his astute outstanding
and contributions to the development of the Girl Child
through the Goldcoast Development Foundation. Moses Oruaze Dickson is a Lawyer, Entrepreneur, and Philanthropist.
He was born on August 13, 1985, in Toru-Orua Town of Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Nigeria. He
holds a distinction in Master of Law- LLM in International Commercial Law from the University of Bedfordshire, as well
as a first degree, Law, and a Bachelors in Law from the Nigerian Law School.
‘Oruaze’ as he is fondly called by his native friends founded
the Solalina Investment Group, a company with interest
in various industries, including oil and gas. In 2017, Solalina Investment Limited, in conjunction with Canterbury Christ
Church University UK, embarked on a £4000 research project on International investment agreements and economic development
in Africa. He is the Managing Solicitor of TRIAX Solicitors; a Bayelsa State, Nigeria-based law firm. He is the founder of
the Goldcoast Developmental foundation.
In October 2018, the Goldcoast Developmental Foundation provided relief materials to women and children affected by the flood
in the Niger Delta region and received a commendation from the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, during his visits
to flood-affected states.
AThe award was received on his behalf by Ms. Chinwe Okolie the Programme Coordinator of Goldcoast Developmental Foundation.
She appreciated the organizers for considering her boss for the award. In her words “This will motivate Goldcoast Developmental
Foundation to do more for the Girl Child and the Ijaw women within the Niger Delta region.
The key projects and programmes of the foundation includes: Protect the Girl Child Campaign in partnership with Triax
Solicitors and the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Bayelsa State Chapter to effectively reduce and prevent
all forms of sexual violence, abuse and violation of the girl child in the Niger Delta region, Medical Outreach Project is
designed to educate women between the age of 20-49 years on the importance of antenatal care for pregnant women,
INSPIRE2ASPIRE (A student career mentorship programme), Skills Acquisition/Empowerment Training designed to empower the
vulnerable persons with skills that will help secure a means of livelihood.
Goldcoast Developmental Foundation is a Bayelsa based non-profit organization established and nationally registered with the
Corporate Affairs Commission in 2013 with focus areas on health, education, empowerment, and strategic youth development.
The geographical area of operation is the Niger Delta region. The foundation also collaborates with strategic partners to plan and
implement key initiatives in line with her programme areas in other parts of the country.
