In recognition of the outstanding contributions of the foundation to the development of the South-South
Geopolitical zone, The Goldcoast Developmental Foundation was honoured with a Humanitarian Service Award
at the South-South Media Week on Monday 26th August 2019.
The Awards is intended to celebrate outstanding institutions, Associations and Communities who are helping
to build a better society. The South-South Media Week aims at among many others; projecting noticeable
value, enhancing cultures, encouraging learning, diversifying the economy through discussions and exhibitions.
The mission is to gather young adults together with veterans and celebrities to communicate, educate and
network in order to build vast relationships towards personal development and the region.
While receiving the award, the foundations Program Coordinator, Chinwe Okolie said, "This Award will inspire
us to do more for the downtrodden in the society and especially the girl child," She also expressed delight and
appreciation to the Organizers for considering Goldcoast Developmental Foundation for the award.
She added that" This award will not be possible without the unflinching and unwavering support of the Founder/Chairman
Board of Trustees Barr. Moses Oruaze Dickson and all the ever supportive team of volunteers."
Chinwe Okolie, Programmes Coordinator of Goldcoast Developmental Foundation used the opportunity to highlight the
key projects and programmes
of the foundation which includes: Protect the Girl Child Campaign in partnership with Triax
Solicitors and the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Bayelsa State Chapter to effectively reduce and
prevent all forms of sexual violence, abuse and violation of the girl child in the Niger Delta region, Medical Outreach
Project is designed to educate women between the age of 20-49 years on the importance of antenatal care for pregnant
women, INSPIRE2ASPIRE (A student career mentorship programme), Skills Acquisition/Empowerment Training
designed to empower the vulnerable persons with skills that will help secure a means of livelihood.
