INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN 2019

On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, UN and regional experts on violence against women and women's rights call upon all States to close the gap between international and national laws on rape and sexual violence.
Goldcoast Developmental Foundation collaborated with the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA Bayelsa Branch) to stage a peaceful walk to the State Police Headquarters as part of their activities for this year's 16 days of activism against gender based violence with the theme ‘Orange the World”.
The delegation comprising of members from other civil society organizations were received by the Bayelsa state commissioner of police Uche Anozia. The commissioner of police expressed his support for the initiative and pledged his support towards ensuring peace and combatting violence against women in the state.
Goldcoast Developmental Foundation remains committed to the elimination of violence against women and the girl child within the Niger Delta region and beyond.
